Dream, dream what a funny dream
A little bit scary and exciting too
It wasn’t really possible, but most are not
They just come at you ready or not.

Dreams are made of things we know
Things forgotten and things unknown
Dreams are shaped by wishes and fears
Things we love or cannot bear

Dreams are over once you know them
They are strange so we remember them
Dreams are a mystery when they occur
And a puzzle when remembered and said in words

Tossing and turning
In our beds we sigh
A dream’s in our heads

And our heart’s alive
It feels so real we believe it’s true
Inside and outside our socks and shoes

But a dream always ends when we awake
Gone the pleasure or the ache
And all that is left is our own memories
That add to the wonder of being alive
Dreaming alone and learning to love ourselves
Dreams are the home our heart loves best
